I've played in a band since I picked up a dodgy old bass guitar that I bought for £30 in 1992.  A hairy biker from Milton Keynes sold it to me along with a homemade bass amp and woodchip cabinet, which was the size of a large washing machine.  My main form of transport back then was a 250cc Honda motorbike called Rhonda, so moving the gear from gig to gig wasn't really an option until I bought an awkward Lada Riva.

I also play the ukulele, as I fervently believe that anyone who plays an instrument with more than four strings is an unnecessary show-off who isn't trying hard enough.
